 Zach surprised me with flowers from the Farmer's Market on Saturday. I have never seen so many shades of purple together like this. It amazes me how inexpensive flowers are at the Market, and how much more unique than what you would find at a florist. The week before he told me to pick flowers, and I found a bouquet of heritage roses (which sadly didn't get photographed in the baby frenzy).

 Zach's birthday was Tuesday. I'm a little embarrassed by the tea lights on the cake, but birthday candles didn't make it to my shopping list before Evie arrived. I did at least have the foresight to have Zach get the ingredients I needed for the cake, which is a gluten-free coconut cake with coconut cream cheese frosting. I think this was the best that recipe has ever turned out for me.

Tony is so disagreeable when it comes to pictures. Unless, of course, he initiates the idea of his picture being taken. Yesterday, for example, he was kissing Evie and decided that he wanted me to get a picture. So he asked me to take a picture with my phone. It was super cute, but what a stinker.

Do you see that thumb? This was after she had nursed on both sides. I took 2 minutes to put my pajamas on, and she started sucking her thumb like she was starved.
