Birth Ball Cover
I finally got myself together and made a cover for my birth ball. I love it! It makes it seem like a piece of furniture, and less like a work out accessory. It was super easy, but I don't think I would have been able to figure it out on my own - go here for a great, simple tutorial.
This knit was one of many tie dye-ish prints I got for a buck a yard at our Wal-Mart last summer. Can't beat that!

Nursing Bra
Nursing bras are one of the banes of my existence. They can be really expensive, and if you want a supportive non-underwire, they can be difficult to find.
So I picked up a couple of non-nursing underwire bras on clearance at Target (one of the only places that regularly carries 34D), and got to work - starting with removing the underwire.
I used clearance tank tops that have been in my stash for the slings.
From the inside. Because the cups are curved it's difficult to see how high the slings come up, but they're almost half way, and probably a little too high, but I'll live with it on this one.

I only gently stretched the elastic while stitching it to the side. By using the strap for the loop and also having to fold it under a little to hold the hook, my straps fit perfectly - but leave no room to lengthen them. If you regularly wear it with the little adjuster half way or so, you're going to want to use something else so that you don't lose that option!
I wasn't sure which direction to face the hook, but thought the likeliness of it coming undone while facing in was greater (you know, if you're sitting with your shoulders in while holding a baby, or picking up a toddler). I'm wearing it today, and haven't had any issue.
Ideally, one would have a real nursing hook, but I only have one dying bra to harvest hooks from, and went with what they had at JoAnn's.
Love,
Jess
