The Seven Sundays of St. Joseph

I just read about this over on Like Mother, Like Daughter. I wish I had heard of it sooner.

The Seven Sundays of St. Joseph

So much of our Faith has been lost. It is so amazing to think that once upon a time people lived by the liturgical calendar. Reading Kristin Lavransdatter really opened my eyes to that, and it makes me sad that we are so disconnected from our Faith. That is one of my goals as a Wife, Mother, and Teacher - to help my family live the liturgical year. As Catholics we have so many wonderful traditions, it is a pity to let them and all of their graces go by without a thought!

Today is the first Sunday of the pre-Lenten season in the Traditional Mass - Septuagesima Sunday. I love that we never get caught in "Ordinary Time." Dom Daniel said that we will experience "real Lent" with the Canons. I'm so excited. Dom Daniel is an excellent homilist (unfortunately I often only catch snippets from the back since Tony loves to sing).

A blessed Septuagesima season to you all, and I hope that you will take a look at The Seven Sundays of St. Joseph. Zach and I are starting it, and I look forward to a future with this beautiful tradition.

Love,
Jess
