...but maybe you can feel it just by looking.
| The bed looks funny because it's still sitting away from the wall. The room is a pretty good size. |
This is our room. It was a very bright, dark bubble gum pink. I thought I could live with it, until I saw sea foam colored bedrooms on Pinterest. Then I knew the pink had to go, and be replaced with something more soothing. This is perhaps a little bright, but I will probably be glad of that in during the long winter. I intend to spray paint the bed frame a sand color (the name on the can is almond, but sand suits my purposes), and put up more pictures. I have a set of photographs from Zach's beach to go on his side. White blinds with some chiffon drapes and it will be absolutely lovely.
It feels so good to finally be finished with the painting - I started it a week ago! Thankfully I remembered a tip from one of my Mom's friends: put your brush (and roller in my case) in a ziploc bag in between painting sessions. Mine survived very well!
You've done so much with paint in your house. It's lovely. That color is not usually something I'd choose, but I think it's very pretty in your room. I like your bed frame. We still don't have one. I'm sort of shopping for a bedroom set on Craigslist. I found this beautiful French Provincial one but all the pieces are too big to fit in the 3rd floor bedrooms. Ugh. Please show us once you get your curtains up and the bed frame painted-both of those are going to add so much to the room!
ReplyDeleteI really like it!! Big improvement from the pink, which was pretty but not for a master bedroom. So proud of you for getting it done with little bear underfoot. And I agree with Emily...more pics once the curtains etc are up!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Now the question is: what color do I paint the nightstands? I was thinking maybe yellow, or just stick with white to match the dresser (that isn't painted yet)?
ReplyDeleteEmily: I hope you can find a bedroom set! We found this frame at a thrift store for about a hundred dollars last year. I like it very much. (Though I would really love to have a wood four poster bed!!)
I suppose the nightstands could be painted to match the bedrame, to make it more of a 'set'.
